Art of Georgia is Back!

Art of Georgia is back! This years’s deadline to enter is May 20th. [stay tuned for whether my art was chosen or not, which won’t be announced until September].

Essentially, artists across Georgia can enter your artwork to be chosen for display in the Georgia State Capitol and even in the governor’s mansion. If you want to enter, follow this link.

Below is more information about this art competition (though it isn’t really a competition).

The Art of Georgia seeks to capture the diversity and uniqueness of communities and landscapes throughout Georgia. In collaboration with the Office of the Governor, GCA facilitates this exhibit of contemporary Georgia visual artists. Artwork from across the state is selected and displayed for approximately one year in the executive offices of the State Capitol and the Ballroom of the Governor’s Mansion. Since 2012, Art of Georgia exhibits have provided a showcase for 341 Georgia artists.

Call for Entries Now Open

Work is being sought from contemporary Georgia artists, ages 18 and up. Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and mixed media exploring the variety of Georgia’s landscapes, vistas, and ecology are eligible.  Three-dimensional work, film, and video are not being considered at this time.

This is not a professional, juried competition.  Pieces will be selected by the Georgia Council of the Arts and the Office of the Governor.  All decisions are final.

Submission Deadline is May 20

I’m not entering this oil painting but I could because it’s definitely a landscape. . . . (Nickajack Creek) Instead I’m doing brand new watercolors for this.
