About the Artist

Shelly Leitheiser is the owner of Fine Art South, LLC. “I have always been an artist. I grew up drawing and painting all the time, just as a part of my life. It was always something I needed to do. I studied art in school and college. After graduating with a fine art degree in Minnesota, I traveled around a bit and now I live in Georgia, where I moved after a long time living up north. Both states have their own kind of beauty and wonderful features. I love Georgia and plan to stay here. The weather is very pleasant (at least for now). The scenery ranges from mountains to plains to hills to beaches and marshes to ocean. There are also so many fascinating old cities in Georgia. It’s got everything. If you are a landscape painter here you can’t go wrong. In fact, it’s an inspirational place in many ways for anyone. I do paint some landscapes but in 2023 my focus is on impressionism and abstraction with some figures and portraits thrown in. I get bored easily if I don’t mix it up.”

Naturally I try to find homes for my artwork.

As of August 2023 all my art is sold through my e-commerce site via Artspan, a big, reputable, safe and beautiful online art gallery store. You can buy prints of my artwork there too. My gallery there is the store-version of this website, where you can look and get more info on the artwork. No worries about buying art there, they are very professional and have been around for more than 40 years. They do not take commissions from artists so prices are more or less the same with some variations in shipping costs. FAS was founded about 4 years ago, just before COVID arrived.  FAS is owned and operated by Georgia artist Shelly Leitheiser. Shelly does a wide variety of artwork, from traditional, realistic and impressionist paintings to non-traditional mixed media paintings, digital art, photography and prints. Shelly has over 30 years of fine art painting and art sales experience.

Shelly has been a member of many art organizations through the last 30 years, local and national.  She is a professional and award-winning artist and has art in many private collections across the country.

Fine Art South is ready to help you design your interior space, or just provide a piece of art that you can invest in and be proud of. Everyone should own some original art.
