Solo Art Show in Smyrna

I am showing 26 of my paintings in a solo art show in Smyrna, at the public library’s gallery. I also have two paintings in display at the Smyrna City Hall. The art show is on display through July 5th. The press release below the photos explains the theme of the show and gives the library’s hours and address.

Shelly Leitheiser’s new solo art show “Environments, Real and Imagined” is on display at the Smyrna Public Library in downtown Smyrna. The exhibit consists of 26 paintings in watercolor and acrylic. The art ranges from abstracts in acrylic to more realistic watercolors of animals and landscapes. The show was arranged by the Friends of the Smyrna Library.  The dates for this show are May 11, 2019 through July 5, 2019.

Shelly Leitheiser is originally from Minnesota. She moved to Georgia in 2014, and creates her art in her Marietta studio.   She is an award-winning and classically educated artist who employs a lot of experimentation in techniques and variations in themes of nature and science in her artwork.

Regarding this art show, Leitheiser stated, “I am very pleased and honored to be chosen by the Friends of the Smyrna Library for this solo show. It is especially nice to be recognized locally because the library is very near where I live and work, and there are many talented artists in the area.”

Leitheiser is an environmentalist and many of the paintings in the show reflect her respect for animals, especially endangered ones, and nature science.

You can see more paintings by Shelly at the City Hall in downtown Smyrna, where the Smyrna Arts Council has installed an exhibit of several local artists, on display through July.

The Smyrna Public Library’s Art Gallery is located on the 2nd floor of the library and free parking is in the back. The address of the Smyrna Library is: 100 Village Green Circle, Smyrna, Georgia 30080
