Description

Out Thereis an abstract astronomy scene, an interpretation of what might be “Out There”. It’s acrylic and enamel paint on canvas. The main colors are cobalt blue, green, white, gold and a hints of magenta and purple.

Artist’s Statement:

“When I was young, about 15 years old, I was very interested in astronomy. I saved up some money and bought a little telescope, and I would spend many nights in my front yard with my telescope, look up at the Milky Way, the moon and planets I could identify. My mother had zero interest in this pursuit, but my Dad was my sci-fi-watching buddy, and he was also interested in astronomy and the idea of life somewhere else besides earth. He would often come outside after I’d been looking through my telescope for awhile and he would look up at the stars with me and ask,  “Do you think there’s anything out there”? He had a good curiosity about it and I felt like it was our thing to have in common. This painting commemorates my time with my Dad watching the sky and wondering about what might be Out There.”

This painting is not framed.  The size is 24″ x 30″ x 1.5″ and it’s ready for hanging.
